Celeste Bologna's Story
Hello,
My name is Celeste Bologna. On Dec.5th of 2008, I had a stroke. I could

not use my left side, could not walk or dress myself. I could not use my
left hand or raise my arm. At 51 years of age, I had lost my independence.
On Jan. 28th, I became a resident of Adrian Manor Health and
Rehabilitation Center. The staff at Adrian Manor were not just my
caregivers and therapists, they became my friends. With constant
encouragement from these new friends and my own motivation to move back home
to Connecticut to be with my children and grandchildren, I quickly began to
make progress.
On Feb. 28th, I left Adrian Manor able to care for myself. I can walk
on my own without a walker. I can drive my car. I am completely independent.
I've gone back to Adrian Manor many times since that day to visit my friends
and to encourage others.

I will be returning to Connecticut in June to enjoy my children and
grandchildren, but I've told my family, "If I ever need to be cared for ,
I'm going back to Adrian Manor."
I want everyone to know that as hard as it is to recover from a stroke, I
enjoyed my time at Adrian Manor and miss my friends. They treated me as a
friend, giving thoughtful words of encouragement. They proved that people
can return to a normal, independent life after a stroke. I know firsthand
because I'm living that life.
